BitPay Brings Bitcoin to TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon

Bitcoin at TechCrunch Disrupt

This weekend, hundreds of hackers will pack the rooms at Pier 48 in San Francisco for the TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon. BitPay and their engineering team will be on-site, providing support to any teams using Bitcore, BitAuth, or their Merchant API to interact with the Bitcoin network.

In addition to the normal Disrupt prizes, BitPay will be offering 3 bitcoin for the best use of the Bitcoin protocol — that’s $1500 worth of value at today’s exchange rates.

Easy Bitcoin Options For Spree and Demandware Clients

We have a new partnership with leading ecommerce platform, Demandware, and we have also built a new plugin for Spree Commerce. We are now a Demandware LINK Technology Partner. This opens the bitcoin payment option to hundreds of major Demandware retailers, from Adidas to Columbia. Our plugin for Spree Commerce will enable Spree’s 45,000+ web merchants to easily accept bitcoin.

St. Petersburg Welcomes BitPay

In preparation for the upcoming NCAA bowl game, BitPay has established a full-time presence in St. Petersburg. We now have two full-time employees located in St. Petersburg and will be bring teams down throughout the fall to work with local business who want to accept bitcoin. ESPN and BitPay are working diligently with the local St. Pete community to prepare the city for the biggest bitcoin event in the world.
